Wakahisa-kai group, are homelike, warm-hearted
group of people who would like to welcome any of you to share
a wonderful time through learning Japanese traditional dance (Nihon
Buyou)!
----Wakahisa-kai
group was formed in 1996. Since then, we have been performing
at many different stages as we devote ourselves to improve our
traditional dance skills and keep pursuing our studies on the
real traditional way of Japanese Dance form.
----Nihon
Buyou (Japanese traditional dance) has
four hundred years of history, Nihon Buyou was one of the most popular pastimes in Japan like tea
ceremony, flower arrangement or calligraphy before; however, it
has lost its popularity and bee appreciated by a limited number
of people because of its reputation for being money costing and
time consuming to acquire. Although Nihon Buyou
itself has been less prevalent, its unique and elegant dancing
style is known and highly estimated all over the world through
another Japanese traditional dance called Kabuki.
----We
are now eager to enhance the image of Nihon Buyou
and get as many people as possoble to know Nihon Buyou and
feel the joy of dancing, hoping that we will be able to hand down
this wonderful tradition from generation to generation.
----Nihon
Buyou can be enjoyed be people of all
ages, There is a curriculum for children
in which they can learn not only the dance but Japanese common
courtesies and culture. For those who lack daily exercise or suffer
from bodily pain (lower back pain leg pain, and etc...), Nihon
Buyou is bound to help them improve
their health.
----With
joy and hope we take pride in passing down this worthwhile tradition
and having people have more positive image (Fun and Easy) of Nihon
Buyou.
